This is a treat - we are an away run from the Teal Cafe, as promised a few weeks ago when we ended up at Nizels. I have conducted considerable research of the premises and eaten there at least half a dozen times - The food and the coffee is great and Kate the owner looks after you well.
So the venue is the motel / cafe at Morley’s round-a-bout at the bottom of River Hill which has just had a complete refit - I will be there to meet you and show you where they want us to park.
The run to go with it, is also something rather different - there are two options on offer in fact ….
1. The Oaks Blokes Bastard - also know as the 'Col de Larmes’ (I wont tell you the translation in case it puts you off). Anyway after a warm up this run does 'go up a bit' and you may find it slightly tiring but once you get to the top there will be a gentle run through some beautiful wooded areas and then mostly down hill. I am looking to make this the new Oaks Blokes Challenge - so I am keen to hear you feedback after having tried it.
It is a treat and you be glad you have given it a go. The tough bit is only about 15 min but you just have to say ‘respect’ to those that do it !!
2. A flat run that takes in Underiver and the flat area beyond - we have done some of this area before so you know I am not exaggerating when I say it is flat (as many of you commented post Nizels about how honest I am now becoming in my descriptions). This run is aimed for those that want an easier run, but do not think that if you are a slower runner and you want to give the Col de Lames a go - I would love to see you give it a go.
So if you are looking for pre summer comeback - the option is there of a gentle flat chatty type run - if you want to work a bit harder followed by a chatty run, it is available too.
And dont forget the hard sell on the lovely cafe afterwards. (under 5 min from Holybush) - so we can get you back for 9.15am if you need to hand over.
If you want a lift send me an email or whatsapp...
Best wishes, David
